Badminton tepati ramalan awal


SKUAD badminton lelaki negara meraikan kejayaan selepas menewaskan Indonesia dalam perlawanan akhir acara berpasukan di Stadium Badminton Cheras semalam.


PASUKAN badminton negara menyapu bersih dua pingat emas yang dipertandingkan dalam acara berpasukan pada Sukan Universiti Asean (SUA) XIV.

Mereka melakukannya dalam acara berpasukan lelaki dan wanita yang berlangsung di Stadium Badminton Kuala Lumpur, Cheras semalam.

Bagi acara berpasukan lelaki, Malaysia menang tipis 3-2 ke atas Indonesia pada perlawanan yang penuh sengit semalam.

Manakala bagi acara berpasukan wanita pula, Malaysia menang mudah setelah menewaskan Indonesia 4-1.

Pada perlawanan pertama, pemain negara yang diketuai Arif Abdul Latif tidak menghadapi masalah menunduk pemain Indonesia, Ariyanto Haryadi Putra 21-17, 21-17.

Mata kedua negara diperoleh menerusi beregu Razif Abdul Latif/Tan Wee Kiong yang menewaskan gandi- ngan Lingga/Kurniawan Fernando 21-15, 18-21, 26-28.

Bagaimanapun, perlawanan ketiga melibatkan pemain perseorangan, Ten Dick Xiang gagal mene- ruskan rentak kemenangan apabila tewas kepada Warman Andreas Aditya 8-21, 9-21.

Begitupun, mereka kembali bangkit pada perlawanan keempat menerusi Hoon Thien How/Saniru Vountus Indramawanc yang menewaskan Wilianto Rio/Pradwissa Davin 21-13, 21-11.

Pada perlawanan terakhir, pemain Indonesia Rivai Achmad menewaskan Chong Wei Feng 16-21, 21-4, 21-0 untuk menjadikan kedudukan 3-2 memihak kepada Malaysia.

Sementara itu bagi acara berpasukan wanita, Indonesia bermula bergaya apabila meriah mata pertama menerusi Fransiska Ratnasari yang menewaskan Julia Wong Pei Xian 21-18, 21-16 pada perlawanan pertama.

Begitupun, pemain negara bangkit untuk menyamakan kedudukan menerusi kemenangan Goh Liu Ying/Ng Hui Lin yang menewaskan Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Goh Liu Ying 21-18, 14-21, 21-14.

Vivian Kah Mun terus mengukuh- kan kedudukan apabila menang ke atas Nurazizah Risa 21-8, 21-19.

Gandingan Woon Khe Wei/Amelia Alicia Anscell pula mudah menewas- kan Jane David/Fitri Marsiam 21-16, 21-14 sebelum Lydia Cheah melengkapkan malam bergaya itu dengan kemenangan ke atas Bellaetrix Manuputty 21-16, 21-16.

Pengurus pasukan badminton negara, Nor Azli Abdul Aziz berkata, dua pingat emas yang dimenangi itu telah menepati sasaran mereka dalam acara berpasukan.

Menurutnya, kejayaan tersebut memberi semangat kepada semua pemain untuk terus berjuang dalam acara perseorangan lelaki dan wanita yang bermula hari ini.

"Saya harap kami dapat meraih tiga pingat emas lagi dalam acara badminton.

"Kami mensasarkan dua pingat emas acara berpasukan dan satu pingat emas daripada acara perse- orangan," katanya.
