Ismail Sabri Yaakob PUTRAJAYA - Pembangunan sukan di peringkat akar umbi bakal mendapat sentuhan baru yang dijamin mampu menjanjikan kejayaan yang lebih besar menerusi kerjasama serampang tiga mata melibatkan tiga kementerian - Belia dan Sukan, Pelajaran dan Pengajian Tinggi mulai tahun depan. Sportcheck: Five proposals given stamp of approval

THE Cabinet Committee for Sports has endorsed five proposals based on the recommendations of the Sports Ministry and National Sports Council (NSC). The committee agreed in principal that a special budget be allocated for disabled athletes who represent the country in various competitions, and at the same time to attract more disabled people to be involved in sports. "A high performance programme has been set for the disabled athletes and, therefore, we have agreed in principal that this group be given special attention," said Deputy Prime Minster Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is also the chairman of the committee. Najib also mentioned that a joint working committee involving the Sports Ministry, Ministry of Education and Higher Education Ministry be formed so that a comprehensive programme can be implemented. JAWATANKUASA Kabinet Pembangunan Sukan semalam memutuskan pembentukan sebuah Jawatankuasa Khas bagi memantau perkembangan atlet bermula daripada peringkat prasekolah sehingga ke peringkat pengajian tinggi. Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak berkata anggota Jawatankuasa Khas itu terdiri daripada Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) melalui Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Kementerian Pelajaran dan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) yang akan bergerak secara bersepadu dalam memastikan bahawa pembangunan atlet tidak terbantut pada satu-satu peringkat. Special Committee Formed To Monitor Athletes' Development

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- The Cabinet Committee on Sports Development (CCSD) has decided to from a Special Committee (SC) to monitor athletes' development from the pre-school level right up to university. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak said it would be made up of representatives from the Youth and Sports Ministry through the National Sports Council (NSC), Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry, who will take an integrated approach to make sure athletes' development is not hindered at any level. "For high performance sports athletes, this is very important as otherwise, they might not reach their full potential. Sports Policy To Be Tabled By Year End Says Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The amended version of the National Sports Policy (NSP) would be submitted to the Cabinet Committee for Sports Development (CabComm) by year end, says Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. He said proposals and resolutions put forward and accepted during the National Sports Convention last week would also be drafted into the NSP for consideration. "We are now in the last phase of the draft. We had waited for new input from the National Sports Convention to be added and now we have finalised the draft copy and expect to submit it by year end," he told reporters after chairing a committee meeting comprising the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry with regard to sports development, at the Parliament, Tuesday. ISMAIL SABRI mempengerusikan Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Bersama KBS, Kementerian Pelajaran dan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi mengenai Program Pembangunan Sukan di Kuala Lumpur semalam. DASAR Sukan Negara (DSN) akan dibentangkan kepada Jawatankuasa Kabinet Mengenai Pembangunan Sukan (JKPS) akhir tahun ini. Demikian jelas Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Menurut beliau, cadangan dan pandangan yang dikemukakan pada Konvensyen Sukan Kebangsaan pada 12 November lepas akan turut dimasukkan ke dalam dasar itu. "Kita dalam draf terakhir. Kita menunggu selepas Konvensyen Sukan, takut ada perkara baru yang perlu dimasukkan dalam Dasar Sukan Negara.
