Skuad sepak takraw masih kempunan



MALAYSIA terus kempunan meraih pingat emas dalam acara sepak takraw pada temasya Sukan Universiti Asean (SUA) XIV di Kompleks Sukan Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam semalam.

Selepas sekadar meraih pingat gangsa menerusi acara berpasangan, semalam kem negara sekali lagi pulang kecewa apabila tewas pada perlawanan akhir acara berpasukan.

Pada aksi penuh mendebarkan itu, skuad negara tewas 1-2 kepada seteru utama, Thailand.

Pada saingan semalam, regu Malaysia A yang dibarisi Muhammad Iqram Kamaruzaman, Mohd. Azlan Abdul Mubin dan Arif Ramli tewas 13-21, 18-21 kepada regu Rattikorn Pealun, Sumeth Aranrat dan Tanarat Boonyok.

Bagaimanapun regu Malaysia B yang diketuai Mohd. Normanizam Ahmad, Mohd. Futra Abdul Ghani, Mohammad Zulkarnain Mohamed Arif bangkit menyamakan kedudukan 1-1 apabila menang 21-17, 21-18 ke atas gandingan Teerayut Iatsthian, Sahachat Sakhonchai dan Panapong Khajornfung

Harapan untuk meraih emas berkecai apabila regu Malaysia C yang dibarisi Ahmad Farhan Hilmo, Mohd. Redzuan Zainal Abidin dan Kamarudin Mat Arsad tewas 18-21, 20-22 kepada regu Thailand, Pollaphat Supakarn, Anucha Meenapha dan Jukkrit Vijara.

Jurulatih sepak takraw negara, Salim Mohd. Yusof berkata, pemainnya telah mencuba yang terbaik untuk meraih kemenangan.

"Namun nasib tidak menyebelahi kami meskipun pemain beraksi dengan baik.

"Saya agak sedih dan hampa kerana kami sepatutnya boleh menang dan meraih pingat emas untuk negara," kata Salim.
