THE Equestrian Association of Malaysia's (EAM) Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been postponed for a second time and will now be held in April.
EAM had written to the Sports Commissioner's Office (SCO) for an extension last December as it is still in the midst of amending its constitution.
The AGM-cum-election was supposed to be held today after the association requested for a postponement last July.
On July 17 last year, EAM president Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis had adjourned the AGM owing to disputes in the interpretation of nominations.
EAM secretary Lau Choo Seng stated last year the amendments were mainly on election nominations to avoid disputes and confusion in future meetings.
Nik Mahmud said EAM needs to submit the amended constitution to him before calling for the AGM.
"The AGM must be conducted by April. EAM wrote to me late last month requesting for the postponement and I granted the request," said Nik yesterday.
"The association is now in the process of amending its constitution." -- AJITPAL SINGH
