Karim ambil sikap 'cuci tangan'

MOM gesa lebih ramai atlit tampil luahkan bantahan pelantikan pegawai

TIMBALAN Presiden Kesatuan Olahraga Amatur Malaysia (KOAM) Karim Ibrahim tampak 'cuci tangan' dalam isu pelantikan pegawai yang didakwa terbabit dalam 'perlakuan meragukan' sebagai anggota jawatankuasa kejurulatihan dan pembangunannya apabila menyerahkan kepada presidennya, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim untuk menjawab.

Ini di sebalik kenyataan terdahulu Karim yang dipetik sebagai berkata akan hanya mengulas mengenai perkara itu apabila ada atlit yang menyuarakan perasaan mereka kepada akhbar.

"Saya tidak mahu mengulas apa-apa mengenai perkara ini," kata Karim. "Saya tidak ada apa-apa lagi yang mahu diperkatakan. Lebih baik persoalan ini diajukan kepada Presiden KOAM."

Karim mengeluarkan kenyataan itu ketika diminta mengulas kenyataan jaguh lompat bergalah wanita, Roslinda Samsu, kelmarin yang membidas tindakan KOAM melantik pegawai terbabit dalam jawatankuasa yang dipengerusikan Karim sendiri.

Selasa lalu, ketika diminta mengulas mengenai pelantikan pegawai terbabit, Karim dipetik sebagai berkata: "Atlit bising, saya tidak boleh buat apa. Saya tidak dengar pun ada atlit yang melenting atau marah. Biar mereka cakap kepada akhbar. Selepas itu baru saya mahu ulas."

Kegusaran atlit turut disuarakan Majlis Olimpik Malaysia (MOM) apabila menegaskan betapa lebih ramai atlit perlu tampil berani untuk meluahkan bantahan berhubung pelantikan pegawai terbabit.

"Kebimbangan ini nyata berasas kerana pegawai terbabit dilantik menduduki jawatan yang mempunyai kaitan langsung dengan atlit. Kita berharap atlit berani tampil mengemukakan aduan rasmi berhubung perkara ini," kata Setiausaha Kehormat MOM, Datuk Sieh Kok Chi.

Kok Chi turut memuji tindakan Roslinda yang mengetuai rakan-rakannya mendedahkan perkara ini, tindakan yang dianggap wajar demi menjaga hak dan kepentingan atlit.

"Atlit perlu wajar menuntut segala hak mereka kerana daripada kudrat mereka negara memperoleh sebarang pingat. Tindakan mereka yang berani menyuarakan hak dan mahu menjaga keselamatan diri membayangkan kematangan atlit terbabit," katanya.

"Bagi MOM, kita boleh memulakan siasatan andai mendapati persatuan gagal membela dan menjaga keselamatan atlit. MOM boleh mengambil tindakan sewajarnya jika persatuan gagal bertindak," katanya.

Ahad lalu, Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, mengarahkan KOAM menimbang semula keputusan melantik pegawai terbabit kerana tidak mahu perkara itu berlarutan sehingga menjejaskan atlit selain mencetuskan kebimbangan ibu bapa menghantar anak mereka menyertai kem latihan negara.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
