KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Chinese coach Lin Xin Hui who was sidelined by the Malaysia Weightlifting Federation (MWF) was today reinstated as the national head coach after six national weightlifters decided to boycott training after his removal.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who met MWF and the weightlifters, decided to reinstate Xin Hui as the head coach, replacing Bulgarian Stefan Stefanov.
"I have also asked MWF to appoint another coach to beef up the sport of weightlifting," he told reporters after discussing the matter with MWF and the six athletes here.
Stefanov will now take charge of the back up squad.
On Saturday, six weightlifters decided to boycott training when MWF sidelined the Chinese coach, citing lack of results, and replaced him with Stefanov.
Among the weightlifters undergoing training are Amirul Hamizan Ibrahim, Hidayat Hamidun, Mohd Hafifi Mansor, Abdul Mubin Rahim, Khairul Ridhwan Amra and Aricco Jumite.
