Tujuh minggu tak cukup: Nafzahizam

KESEMPATAN berkelana selama tujuh minggu di London bersama Peter Genever dirasakan begitu pendek buat Mohd Nafzahizam Adnan yang memendam keinginan untuk meneruskan tempoh latihannya bersama jurulatih itu.

Tetapi, apakan daya, keinginannya itu terpaksa ditangguhkan dalam masa terdekat ini berikutan ketiadaan kata putus daripada Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) walaupun ada ura-ura ia sudah dijadualkan buatnya pada April ini.

Pemergiannya ke Chingford baru-baru ini diiringi adiknya, Mohd Nafiizwan yang disapa mesra dengan panggilan Wan. Wan yang muda setahun daripadanya pergi atas pembiayaan Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) berikutan dirinya yang sudah menembusi kelompok 50 teratas.


“Saya berada di Chingford selama tujuh minggu berlatih bersama Peter. Selain saya, ada tiga pemain lain berlatih dengannya, Azlan (Iskandar), Wan dan Peter Barker.

“Tempoh latihan itu adalah atas pembiayaan saya sendiri. Ia adalah pengorbanan yang terpaksa saya lakukan demi kerjaya saya

“Kalau saya pergi pun selepas ini, ia mungkin pada April. Setakat ini masih belum ada kata putus mengenai tempoh latihan itu,” katanya.”

Nafzahizam, 23, yang berada pada ranking 97 dunia, kini mensasarkan untuk menembusi kelompok 80 teratas tahun ini kerana menyedari ia akan membantunya dalam mendapat bantuan kewangan untuk menyambung latihannya di luar negara.

Mengenai sasarannya pada Terbuka Kuala Lumpur yang bermula 2 Mac ini, Nafzahizam berkata harapannya kali ini adalah untuk melayakkan diri ke pusingan pertama.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
