Delegasi luar negara jalani saringan ketat H1N1

JOHOR BAHRU - Kesemua pegawai, jurulatih dan pemain luar negara yang menyertai Kejohanan Hoki Remaja Dunia 2009 di Stadium Hoki Taman Daya di sini perlu menjalani pemeriksaan ketat penyaringan wabak influenza A (H1N1).

Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Belia dan Sukan negeri, Md. Jais Sarday berkata, ia penting bagi memastikan wabak selesema babi tidak menular ke negara ini kerana kebanyakan ahli delegasi berasal dari negara yang disahkan mencatatkan kes penyakit itu.

Tegasnya, pemeriksaan itu dijalankan di tiga lokasi iaitu Lapangan Terbang Changi, Singapura; di Kompleks Kastam, Imigresen dan Kuarantin (CIQ) serta di hotel penginapan mereka di Puteri Pan Pacific di sini.

"Sewaktu berada di sini, mereka akan dikuarantin di Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) dan Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI) jika didapati dijangkiti H1N1.

"Kita tidak boleh berkompromi dalam hal ini terutamanya bagi negara yang mempunyai kes H1N1," katanya pada sidang akhbar selepas meninjau perkembangan persiapan kejohanan itu di Stadium Taman Daya di sini semalam.

Kejohanan itu yang akan diadakan bermula 7 hingga 21 Jun ini dianjurkan secara bersama antara Malaysia dan Singapura.

Sebanyak 20 pasukan menyertainya dan dibahagikan kepada empat kumpulan dengan Malaysia diletakkan dalam kumpulan C bersama England, Korea, Sepanyol dan Amerika Syarikat.

Kumpulan A terdiri daripada Argentina, Belgium, Mesir, Pakistan dan Rusia manakala kumpulan B melibatkan Australia, Chile, Jerman, Jepun dan Afrika Selatan.

Kumpulan D pula terdiri daripada India, Belanda, New Zealand, Poland dan Singapura.

Pusingan pertama yang melibatkan kumpulan B dan D akan diadakan di Stadium Seng Kang, Singapura manakala pusingan pertama bagi dua lagi kumpulan diadakan di Stadium Hoki Taman Daya.

Pusingan seterusnya akan diadakan di sini manakala perasmian diadakan di Singapura pada 5 Jun ini.

Md. Jais berkata, tahap keselamatan kesemua jurulatih, pegawai dan pemain dalam kejohanan itu adalah terjamin malah anggota polis turut ditempatkan di hotel penginapan mereka.

Sementara itu, Menteri Besar, Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman yang turut melakukan tinjauan di tempat yang sama selepas itu, menyatakan beliau berpuas hati dengan perkembangan persiapan yang dijalankan.

"Johor telah bersedia untuk menganjurkan Kejohanan Hoki Remaja Dunia 2009 ini.

"Kejohanan ini juga akan menjadikan Johor sebagai salah satu destinasi kejohanan sukan bertaraf dunia," katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
