MB puas hati persiapan Hoki Piala Dunia Remaja

JOHOR sudah bersedia menjadi tuan rumah terbaik Kejohanan Hoki Piala Dunia Remaja 2009 yang menyingkap tirai pada 7 sehingga 21 Jun ini.

Keyakinan itu terbit daripada nada suara Menteri Besar, Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman yang nyata berpuas hati dengan perkembangan terkini persiapan penganjuran sukan hoki bertaraf dunia tatkala melakukan lawatan singkat ke Stadium Hoki Taman Daya, petang semalam.

Beliau berpendapat betapa tempoh singkat yang diberi untuk memastikan segala kemudahan, terutama padang kedua seperti yang ditetapkan oleh Persekutuan Hoki Antarabangsa (FIH) sudah siap sepenuhnya dan tidak akan timbul masalah untuk pasukan yang bakal beraksi di gelanggang berkenaan.

“Dalam tempoh tiga bulan padang kedua yang membabitkan perbelanjaan RM5.6 juta sudah siap malah saya amat berpuas hati terutama kerja-kerja pembinaan itu begitu cekap dan yakin semua akan siap sepenuhnya dalam masa dua atau tiga hari lagi.

“Matlamat utama adalah ingin sekali lagi memastikan Johor menjadi tuan rumah yang terbaik selepas berpengalaman pada penganjuran sukan bertaraf antarabangsa dan saya yakin keperluan dari aspek teknikal terutama kepada pasukan beraksi dan pegawai kejohanan menepati kehendak masing-masing,” katanya.

Abdul Ghani menambah betapa kapasiti tempat duduk untuk kedua-dua gelanggang mampu memuatkan sehingga 2,500 penonton manakala jumlah perbelanjaan untuk kos pembinaan stadium dan penganjuran hampir mencecah RM23 juta.

Katanya, pembinaan stadium utama adalah RM16 juta dan untuk padang kedua yang memiliki padang rumput tiruan bermutu tinggi bernilai RM5.6 juta selain perbelanjaan penganjuran yang membabitkan RM1 juta.

Sementara itu, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Belia dan Sukan Negeri, Md Jais Sarday yang melakukan lawatan pada sebelah pagi turut berpuas hati dengan status stadium itu malah memaklumkan sejumlah 1,000 kain rentang dan tiga papan iklan sudah dipasang di sekitar jalan-jalan utama di Johor Bahru.

“Bagi memastikan kelancaran kejohanan hoki bertaraf dunia, sejumlah 300 pegawai dan sukarelawan akan terbabit selain penubuhan pasukan sorak yang terdiri dari pelajar sekolah bakal memeriahkan lagi saingan hoki itu,” kata Md Jais.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
