H1N1: KBS bertindak bawa ke kabinet


PUTRAJAYA - Kecewa dengan apa yang berlaku, Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek bertindak membawa isu pertelagahan berhubung wabak selesema babi atau influenza A (H1N1) antara empat kementerian ke kabinet tidak lama lagi.

Kementerian yang dimaksudkan adalah Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS), Kementerian Kesihatan, Kementerian Pelajaran dan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi.

Sambil mengakui ada perbezaan pandangan dan masalah penyelarasan dalam membuat keputusan, Ahmad Shabery mahu perkara ini dapat diselesaikan segera agar atlet negara tidak menjadi mangsa.

"Saya akan bawa masalah ini untuk mendapat perhatian kabinet supaya selepas ini akan ada pelarasan dalam membuat keputusan.

"Memang ada pandangan berbeza antara empat kementerian ini dalam membuat keputusan berhubung penyertaan atlet elit dan pelapis negara ke kejohanan di luar negara," katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian selepas merasmikan Seminar Pembangunan Sukan Paralimpik Prestasi Tinggi Malaysia di sini, semalam.

Penyertaan atlet negara menjadi caca merba sejak kebelakangan ini berikutan wabak selesema babi yang melanda dunia ketika ini.

Sehingga ini dua penyertaan kontinjen negara terpaksa dibatalkan pada saat akhir iaitu ke Sukan Universiti Dunia di Serbia dan terbaru Sukan Remaja Asia di Singapura.

Ia berlaku disebabkan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi dan Kementerian Pelajaran mengeluarkan arahan tidak membenarkan mereka mengambil bahagian.

Sedangkan Kementerian Kesihatan dan KBS pula tidak mempunyai masalah untuk memberi lampu hijau kepada dua kontinjen negara asalkan bukan ke negara yang berisiko tinggi.

Dalam hal ini, timbul persoalan tentang arahan kementerian mana yang mahu dipatuhi dan didengar?

Siapa pula yang akan menanggung kerugiannya selepas belanja besar dikeluarkan untuk melatih atlet negara, memberi vaksin, mengadakan pemilihan dan sebagainya?

Tiadanya penyelarasan dalam membuat keputusan menyebabkan atlet negara yang telah melakukan persiapan berbulan-bulan menjadi mangsa perbezaan pandangan empat kementerian ini.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
