Tun M lawat suite 1MF1T di Singapura

KUALA LUMPUR - Pasukan Formula Satu (F1) negara, 1MF1T menerima kunjungan peminat nombor satu pasukan itu, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad ketika berlangsungnya Grand Prix (GP) Singapura di Litar Marina Bay, kelmarin.

Dr. Mahathir yang merealisasikan pembinaan Litar Antarabangsa Sepang dan membawa perlumbaan F1 ke Malaysia 10 tahun lalu meluangkan masa kira-kira setengah jam di Suite Kelab Paddock 1MF1T bagi mendengar penerangan mengenai jentera Lotus F1 daripada Ketua Pegawai Teknikal 1MF1T, Mike Gascoyne.

Sebelum itu, bos pasukan 1MF1T, Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes bersama-sama pengarah-pengarah pasukan, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin and Zahri Ismail telah membawa Dr. Mahathir melawat para pemandu F1 sebelum perlumbaan itu berlangsung.

Turut hadir, Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

"Kehadiran Tun (Dr. Mahathir), negarawan yang telah membuka peluang untuk Malaysia mengenali dengan lebih dekat perlumbaan ini memberi satu perangsang kepada pasukan yang kini dalam peringkat permulaan.

"Sebab keghairahan beliaulah kini kita berjaya mewujudkan pasukan F1 sendiri. Usaha itu kini mendapat ganjaran diadun pula dengan semangat kebanggaan Malaysia serta dijana dengan harapan dan aspirasi negara.

"Pasukan F1 1Malaysia menggambarkan kerjasama berpasukan untuk memberi peluang kepada belia dalam menerajui kejuruteraan F1 pada masa akan datang," kata Fernandes.

1MF1T merupakan projek yang dibiayai swasta dan dimiliki bersama oleh Kumpulan Tune, Kumpulan Naza dan Litespeed UK.

Pasukan itu akan bekerjasama dengan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia dan Universiti Teknologi Petronas bagi membantu merealisasikan aspirasi mewujudkan kelas modal insan berintensifkan pengetahuan dan teknologi tinggi bagi negara.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
