Libas Memori sasar julang martabat takraw negara


60 bekas pemain termasuk regu jemputan, media dijangka turut serta

KEJOHANAN Sepak Takraw Libas Memori yang bakal berlangsung 30 Oktober ini yang menampilkan legenda negara seperti Adnan Saidin dan Zahir Awang, dilihat kaedah terbaik mengembalikan kegemilangan sukan warisan itu.

Namun, jelas tersirat betapa penganjuran sukan itu dilihat sebagai langkah awal menyelamat maruah, ketika barisan pemain ketika ini, menanggung aib di pentas antarabangsa.


Ketua Pengarah Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Datuk Zolkples Embong, berkata kejohanan dijangka menarik minat lebih 60 bekas pemain sepak takraw negara, termasuk regu jemputan daripada MSN dan media.

“Kami terpanggil untuk menganjurkan kejohanan ini bagi mengembalikan populariti sukan warisan ini.

“Malah, kejohanan ini juga dapat mengisi kekurangan penganjuran pertandingan dan diharapkan ramai peminat dapat menyaksikan kehebatan Adnan yang dulu libasannya mampu memecahkan lantai gelanggang,” katanya.

Zolkples berkata, MSN sedia menimbang saingan antara veteran Malaysia dengan veteran Thailand pada masa akan datang, andai kejohanan itu mendapat sambutan.

Sementara itu, beliau berkata, bekas pemain negara masih berpeluang menyertai kejohanan berkenaan dan diharap segera menghubungi pegawai MSN untuk mendaftar diri.

“Buat kali pertama ini, kejohanan dilangsungkan membabitkan saingan regu menerusi format satu perlawanan 21 mata. Hadiah wang tunai RM1,500 untuk johan, RM1,000 naib johan dan RM500 untuk regu yang layak ke separuh akhir,” katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
