Azizulhasni, Fatehah ungguli Olahragawan Olahragawati Terengganu


SELAMIAH Yong (kanan) mewakili Azizulhasni Awang manakala Mustafa Kassim bagi pihak Fatehah Mustafa yang masing-masing dinobatkan Olahragawan dan Olahragawati Terengganu, semalam. Azizulhasni dan Fatehah kini berada di Melbourne, Australia meneruskan latihan dan pengajian.


KUALA TERENGGANU - Atlet lumba basikal, Azizulhasni Awang dan Fatehah Mustafa masing-masing dinobatkan Olahragawan dan Olahragawati Terengganu, semalam.

Mohd. Harrif Salleh yang juga salah seorang daripada atlet lumba basikal diumumkan sebagai Olahragawan Harapan manakala atlet menembak, Athirah Hamzah pula dinobatkan sebagai Olahragawati Harapan.

Azizulhasni dan Fatehah yang masing-masing mencatat pelbagai kecemerlangan sepanjang 2007/2008 termasuk Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) 2008 menerima piala pusingan, piala iringan, RM7,000 dan sijil penghargaan.

Mohd. Harrif dan Athirah pula masing-masing menerima piala pusingan, piala iringan, RM2,500 dan sijil penghargaan.

Hadiah disampaikan oleh Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Said.

Pasukan Ragbi Sukma XII 2008 Terengganu pula menerima Anugerah Pasukan Lelaki Terbaik manakala Pasukan Menembak Rifle Wanita Sukma XII 2008 Terengganu pula diumumkan sebagai Pasukan Terbaik Wanita.

Jurulatih pasukan lumba basikal, Syed Mohd. Husaini Syed Mazlan dianugerahkan sebagai Jurulatih Terbaik manakala Pasukan Formula Future Terengganu diumumkan sebagai penerima Anugerah Khas dan Anugerah Pengurusan Terbaik SUkan dianugerahkan kepada Persatuan Pencak Silat Terengganu.

Anugerah Tokoh Sukan dianugerahkan kepada bekas Menteri Besar Terengganu, Tan Sri Wan Mokhtar Wan Ahmad kerana penglibatannya dalam memajukan pencak silat di negeri ini.

Dalam pada itu, Ahmad berkata, penganugerahan tersebut diharap dapat memberi rangsangan kepada para atlet dan penggiat sukan dalam memartabatkan sukan di negeri ini.

''Kerajaan negeri amat berbangga dan mengambil berat di atas segala pengorbanan atlet dan jurulatih persatuan sukan yang berusaha memerah keringat dan tenaga dalam mengharumkan nama negeri dan negara," ujarnya. UM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement. "Maybe his (Rajagobal) assessment and comments of the match was misconstrued by the media.
