Azizulhasni, Fatihah atlit terbaik Terengganu '09

MUSTAFA mewakili Fatihah dan Selamiah mewakili Azizulhasni menerima anugerah, malam tadi.

Dipilih kerana pencapaian cemerlang dalam dan luar negara

JAGUH lumba basikal negara, Azizulhasni Awang dan Fatihah Mustaffa dinobatkan Olahragawan dan Olahragawati Terengganu 2007-2008 sempena Anugerah Sukan Terengganu di Wisma Darul Iman, Kuala Terengganu, malam kelmarin.

Kedua-dua pelumba itu yang kini mengikuti latihan di Australia dipilih berdasarkan pencapaian cemerlang mereka meraih emas pada Sukan Malaysia ke-XII (Sukma ke-XII) dan pencapaian di luar negara, sekali gus menerima hadiah RM7,000 seorang serta piala dan sijil.


Hadiah disampaikan Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Said kepada ibu Azizulhasni, Selamiah Yong, manakala Fatihah diwakili ayahnya, Mustapa Kassim berikutan kedua-dua mereka tidak dapat hadir kerana terikat dengan komitmen latihan di Australia.

Anugerah tahunan tajaan kerajaan negeri itu dianjurkan sebagai pengiktirafan dan perangsang kepada atlit serta penggiat sukan di negeri ini, termasuk atlit yang mempamer aksi cemerlang pada Sukma ke-XII, tahun lalu.

Sementara itu, jaguh sukan berbasikal negeri, Mohd Harris Salleh dan Athirah Hamzah (menembak) masing-masing dipilih Olahragawan dan Olahragawati Harapan dan membawa pulang hadiah RM2,500.

Bekas Menteri Besar Terengganu Tan Sri Wan Mokhtar Ahmad dinobatkan sebagai Tokoh Sukan Terengganu sebagai mengiktiraf sumbangan dan jasa beliau terhadap pembangunan bidang sukan di negeri ini, manakala Allahyarham Kamaruddin Maidin (bekas jaguh lompat kijang) dan Yahya Jusoh (bekas pemain bola sepak) masing-masing dipilih penerima Anugerah Jasamu di Kenang.

Kategori Jurulatih Terbaik dimenangi Syed Mohd Husaini Syed Mazlan (basikal) dan Persatuan Silat Negeri Terengganu dipilih persatuan terbaik.

Wartawan sukan Berita Harian Kuala Terengganu, Hamid Salleh muncul penerima sulung Anugerah Tokoh Kewartawan Sukan dan menerima RM500, piala serta sijil. BH

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
