Pelumba trek negara gegar Tasmania




Azizulhasni sendiri menjuarai acara keirin dan 200m pecut dengan menewaskan jaguh handalan Australia, Shane Perkins.





KUALA LUMPUR - Pelumba basikal trek negara yang diketuai Azizulhasni Awang menguasai pusingan kedua Karnival Berbasikal Tasmania apabila menjuarai tiga acara utama, kelmarin.
Azizulhasni sendiri menjuarai acara keirin dan 200m pecut dengan menewaskan jaguh handalan Australia, Shane Perkins.


Di samping itu, trio muda negara dianggotai Azizulhasni, Muhammad Edrus Yunos dan Hafiz Sufian turut mengungguli acara pecut berpasukan menewaskan New Zealand pada perlumbaan akhir.
Sepanjang karnival yang berlangsung di velodrome trek kayu di Launceston itu, pelumba negara sentiasa menjadi tumpuan penonton tempatan yang kagum dengan keupayaan mereka.
Karnival Berbasikal Tasmania adalah satu kejohanan yang diadakan sebanyak tujuh pusingan bermula dari 26 Disember, 2009 hingga 16 Januari 2010.
Setiap pusingan, perlumbaan dilangsungkan sehari suntuk membabitkan banyak acara bukan sahaja acara berbentuk pecut tetapi juga endurance.
Pada pusingan pertama yang diadakan di atas velodrome trek terbuka di Latrobe, Sabtu lalu, pelumba negara kebanyakannya hanya mampu muncul naib juara.
Azizulhasni tewas kepada Perkins dalam acara 200m pecut. Perkins juga unggul dalam acara keirin menewaskan Hafiz manakala Azizulhasni di tempat keenam.
Bagaimanapun dalam acara pecut berpasukan, gandingan baru Malaysia, Junaidi Mohamad Nasir, Hariff Salleh, Muhammad Syamil Baharum melakukan kejutan dengan muncul juara.
Trio Malaysia itu menewaskan trio New Zealand di tempat kedua dan satu lagi trio berpengalaman negara, Azizulhasni, Edrus, Hafiz di tempat ketiga.
Kesemua pelumba negara yang menjalani latihan pusat di Melbourne di bawah jurulatih, John Beasley menyertai karnival ini.
Selepas ini karnival berbasikal Tasmania akan diteruskan di Devonport (29 dan 30 Disember) diikuti Burnie (1 Januari), Hobart (10 Januari) dan St. Helen (16 Januari). UTUSAN

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
