Jurulatih Eropah jadi pilihan PHM



SEORANG jurulatih berpengalaman dari Eropah menjadi pilihan utama Persekutuan Hoki Malaysia (PHM) mengendalikan skuad negara bagi menggantikan Tan Beng Hai tetapi nama calon itu tidak diumumkan sehingga mendapat keputusan penaja dalam soal pembayaran gaji.

Presidennya, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah berkata keputusan itu penting kerana gaji diminta jurulatih itu tinggi dan seboleh-bolehnya badan induk itu mahu menggunakan peruntukan daripada Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN).

“Ketika ini, saya menunggu pengesahan penaja dalam soal bayaran gaji jurulatih dari Eropah itu. Apa yang pasti jurulatih itu sudah bersetuju untuk mengendalikan skuad negara.


“Tetapi gaji diminta terlalu tinggi. PHM hanya menunggu keputusan penaja sebelum mengumumkan nama jurulatih itu yang diharap mengembalikan status skuad negara disegani di pentas antarabangsa,” katanya selepas majlis penyampaian insentif kepada 31 atlit Pahang, termasuk enam pegawai yang beraksi di Sukan Sea di Laos, Disember tahun lalu.

Mengulas kemungkinan Malaysia akan menjadi tuan rumah Piala Dunia berikutan India difahamkan menghadapi masalah teknikal, Tengku Abdullah berkata, Persekutuan Hoki Antarabangsa (FIH) pernah menawarkan Malaysia sebagai tuan rumah jika India gagal menganjurkan.

“Presiden FIH pernah membisik kepada saya supaya Malaysia dalam keadaan bersedia jika India tidak dapat menganjurkannya. Tapi, dalam situasi sekarang, kita anggap ia sudah terlambat,” katanya.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
