Muhyiddin lancar pameran jelajah trofi Piala Dunia 2010


MUHYIDDIN melihat Trofi Piala Dunia FIFA sambil diperhatikan Pengurus Besar Malaysia, Singapura dan Brunei Coca-Cola Company, Antonio Del Rosario pada pelancaran pameran trofi itu di KLCC, semalam.
TROFI Piala Dunia - simbol keagungan bola sepak global - dilancarkan untuk tatapan umum oleh Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, semalam selepas ia tiba di tanah air, kelmarin.

Trofi itu akan dipamerkan kepada orang awam di Pusat Konvensyen Mid Valley di Kuala Lumpur, mulai hari ini.

Piala emas berkenaan yang tiba di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA), Sepang menerusi penerbangan khas dari Jakarta adalah trofi asli setinggi 36.8 sentimeter dan berat 6.175 kilogram yang diperbuat daripada emas tulen 18 karat.


Kuala Lumpur menjadi bandar raya Asia kelima menerima kedatangan trofi teragung bola sepak itu dalam siri jelajah sejauh 134,017 kilometer merentasi lima benua dengan perjalanan bermula dari ibu pejabat Persekutuan Bola Sepak Antarabangsa (Fifa) di Zurich, Switzerland, pada 21 September lalu.

Sebelum ini, trofi itu singgah untuk tatapan peminat bola sepak di benua Asia di Calcutta, India pada 17 Januari lalu diikuti Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), 20 Januari; Bangkok (Thailand), 23 Januari dan Jakarta, Selasa lalu.

Pada 2006 sempena Piala Dunia di Jerman ketika itu, jelajah trofi itu singgah di 31 bandar raya dari 29 negara dengan perjalanan sejauh 102,570 kilometer.  BHARIAN

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
