Peruntukan berkurangan tidak jejas tumpuan MSN

KUALA LUMPUR - Meskipun peruntukan yang diperoleh Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) tahun ini kurang 15 peratus berbanding 2009, namun ia sama sekali tidak akan menjejaskan tumpuan badan sukan itu untuk menghadapi dua temasya besar tahun ini.

Ketua Pengarah MSN, Datuk Zolkples Embong berkata, pengurangan bajet tersebut, tidak akan menghalang badan sukan itu memberi tumpuan penuh menghadapi Sukan Asia dan Sukan Komanwel 2010.
Katanya, peruntukan yang diberikan kepada MSN itu masih jauh lebih baik berbanding agensi kerajaan lain.
"Saya tidak merasakan pengurangan peruntukkan tersebut akan menghalang sukan negara kita daripada terus mencipta kecemerlangan.

"Ia tidak begitu menjejaskan tumpuan MSN untuk menghadapi Sukan Asia dan Sukan Komanwel 2010
"Sehubungan itu, saya berharap agar semua persatuan sukan di negara ini akan mengamalkan perbelanjaan berhemah dan berjimat cermat," katanya yang ditemui di majlis kesyukuran kejayaan kontinjen negara di Sukan SEA Laos, di sini, semalam.
Pada majlis tersebut, MSN turut menyampaikan sumbangan kepada 20 anak yatim daripada Darul Taqwa, Sungai Besi, dekat sini.


Mengulas lanjut, Zolkples berkata, dia sangat berharap persatuan sukan dapat membelanjakan dana yang diterima dengan baik dan memilih pertandingan yang benar-benar berkualiti
Katanya, setiap persatuan perlu membuat perancangan secara teliti terhadap program yang ingin dikendalikan dan memilih kejohanan tertentu di peringkat antarabangsa.
Jelasnya, keutamaan harus diberi kepada program yang lebih penting dan dia yakin kepada kualiti sesuatu kejohanan, berbanding kuantiti kejohanan yang disertai.
Menurutnya, mungkin setiap persatuan perlu melakukan pengubahsuaian dalam program tahunan mereka.
"Sebagai contoh, saya sudah berbincang dengan Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) dan menyarankan agar persatuan itu memberi keutamaan kepada empat kejohanan antarabangsa iaitu Sukan Asia, Sukan Komanwel, Piala Thomas dan Kejohanan Dunia.
"Selain dapat mengurangkan perbelanjaan, ia juga dapat mengelakkan atlet daripada mudah menerima kecederaan," katanya.

Dalam pada itu katanya, program penyediaan atlet akan terus dilaksanakan, biarpun peruntukkan 2010 dikurangkan dan MSN masih berdepan dengan masalah kewangan. UTUSAN

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
