THE 15th Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) will be run at a cost of RM7.5 million by the Sports Ministry.
"Last year's race was run at a cost of RM10.5 million and we've managed to reduce that even further this year, but still maintain a high level of organisation," said Yassin.
"We managed to negotiate with the various contractors and suppliers to reduce their prices and also secure some contributions in terms of services."
He added that this will make the event more sustainable in the future and also assured that even with the cost-cutting measures, the race will still maintain its hors classe (HC) status.
LTdL is one of just three 2.HC status races on the UCI Asia Tour calendar, with China hosting the other two -- the Tour of Qinghai Lake and the Tour of Hainan - NST
