KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Genting Malaysia Berhad is again sponsoring the 15th edition of the Le Tour de Langkawi 2010 (LTdL) with a contribution of RM1 million in cash.
Genting deputy chairman, Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar, said the company would also contribute the red polka-dot jersey to the winner for the King of the Mountain section of the tour which begins on March 1.
"With the coverage provided by the foreign media, it will further boost Genting as a tourist attraction besides generating the national economy," he said at a media conference, here Wednesday.

He said Genting would also double the consolation prize from RM1,000 given last year to RM2,000 for the top three finishers among the national cyclists in the tour.
Also present at the function was Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Wee Jeck Seng who witnessed the handing over of the cheque and polka dot jersey by Mohammed Hanif to the chief executive officer of the LTdL 2010, Mohamed Salleh.
The LTdL this time involved seven stages namely Kota Baharu-Kuala Berang (174.5km), Kuala Terengganu-Chukai (182.9km), Pekan-Mersing (144km), Mersing-Parit Sulong (163.5km), Muar-Port Dickson (140.2km), Putrajaya-Genting Highland (103.9km) and the final stage from Kuala Kubu Baru to Dataran Merdeka stretching 92.8km, for a total distance of 1013.9km.
