KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- The Asian Women's Under-18 Volleyball Championship, to be held at the Cheras Badminton Stadium from May 20-28 here, has attracted participation from 13 countries.
Malaysian Amateur Volleyball Association (MAVA) president Datuk Lee Jian Xian said the championship, held in conjunction with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin would involve 156 players and 78 officials.
Apart from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea," he told reporters here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Malaysian coach Moh Wung Ming said 19 players who were short listed for the championship are currently undergoing training in Sibu, Sarawak since January.
