Badminton: Malaysia ke final


SONIA gagal menyumbang mata untuk skuad negara ketika menentang Thailand pada aksi separuh akhir Kejohanan Badminton Remaja Asia di Bukit Kiara semalam.

SKUAD negara mara ke perlawanan akhir acara berpasukan campuran pada Kejohanan Badminton Remaja Asia di Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara semalam.

Malaysia yang turun selaku juara bertahan, menewaskan Thailand 3-1 untuk bertemu China pada perlawanan akhir hari ini.

Pada aksi semalam, beregu campuran, Ow Yao Han-Lai Pei Jing menghadiahkan mata pertama negara apabila menewaskan gandingan Apisuk Inkarat-Taerattanachai Sapsiree 19-21, 21-15, 21-17.

Semi finalis acara individu tahun lepas, Zulkiffli Zulfadli pula terpaksa bekerja keras selama satu jam untuk menewaskan Poodchalat Pisit 21-10, 17-21, 21-19 untuk mata kedua negara.

Begitupun, Thailand merapatkan kedudukan apabila meraih mata tunggal melalui pemain wanita perseorangan, Intanon Ratchanok yang menundukkan Sonia Cheah 21-17, 21-17.

Namun, tiket ke perlawanan akhir sah menjadi milik Malaysia apabila beregu lelaki, Ow Yao Han- Yew Hong Kheng menewaskan Ampunsuwan Wannawat-Istiyanet Tinn 21-9, 20-22, 21-18.

China pula mara selepas menundukkan Indonesia 3-2 pada satu lagi aksi separuh akhir semalam.
Malaysia telah melakar kejutan menewaskan China untuk muncul juara tahun lepas.
