Hockey: Perak Unbeaten After Four Razak Cup Matches

KUANTAN, March 30 (Bernama) -- Perak remained unbeaten after four division one matches, beating Armed Forces (ATM) 4-1 in the Tun Abdul Razak Cup at Stadium Hoki Wisma Belia here Tuesday night.

Perak made easy work of ATM with goals by Razali Zulkifli (1,28), Mohd Hafifi Hafiz Hanafi (58) and Mohd Noor Khairul Azrai (62).

ATM's consolation goal was scored by Mohd Shafik Yaacob (47).

In another match, Negeri Sembilan beat Penang 3-2 in an exciting encounter. Negeri's goals were scored by S Kuhan (23,34) and Kavin Kartik (64).

The Penang goals came from Mohd Jamil Saidin (28) and Jivan Mohan (53).

In another match, Johor beat Melaka 3-0.

Johor's goals were scored by Muhammad Azammi Abadi (17), Hang Edzharsyah Hang Tuah (19) and Baljit Singh (32).

In a division two match, Terengganu sent Selangor reeling 6-2.

Terengganu's goals were scored by Tuan Abdul Walid Tuan Aziz (5), Faizal Saari (11), Muhammad Firhan Ashari (19, 40, 42, 69).

Selangor's goals came from Metdriyanto Zakaria (7) and Mohd Redza Maadun (32).

Perlis beat Brunei 4-0 in another second division match with goals by Tg Ahmad Tajuddin Tg Abd Jalil (16, 59), Azroy Azeman (47) and Amar Gaddafi Ishak (53).

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek remains confident that the national Uber Cup squad can spring a surprise when Malaysia hosts the Thomas and Uber Cup finals at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil from May 9-16.
