KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 (Bernama) -- Eight basketball teams from around the country have confirmed their participation in the inaugural Junior Basketball League 2010 which will be held at the Basketball Court in Cheras, starting on April 17.
Deputy Secretary-General of the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) Sim Sin Heng said the association expected more teams to take part before the tournament's deadline on April 11.
"We invited all the teams to join the tournament as this is the platform for them to compete at the higher level," he told reporters, here on Wednesday.
Sim said the league will run for three consecutive weeks starting on April 17 until May 2 and the final round would take place on May 1 and May 2.

There are four categories - Under 12 boys and girls, and Under 15 boys and girls.
Each team consists of seven players only, and they will play in two halves with seven minutes playing time each half.
