KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Mac (Bernama) -- National Athletes Welfare Foundation (YAKEB) executive chairman Datuk Paduka Dr Mumtaz Jaafar received an 'Award of Honorary 2nd Degree Black Belt' in recognition of he contribution to sports.
The award was presented by the Malaysian Global Taekwondo Federation in conjunction with the 23rd Traditional Taekwondo Academy Invitational Championship held recently.
According to a statement from YAKEB today, Mumtaz also received a 'Degree of Philosophy in Martial Arts Science' from the World Academy of Martial Arts Philosophy & Science, during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, last Saturday, YAKEB held a religious for non-Muslim ex-athletes at the Sri Ramalingeswara Temple in Bangsar and was attended by about 80 former national athletes.
