LANGKAWI, March 23 (Bernama) -- Thick fog and slow wind speeds of three to four knots slightly hampered the Malaysian sailors' performance on the first day of the 14th Asian Sailing Championship in Shanwei, Guangdong, China.
Malaysian Yachting Association general manager Mohd Afendy Abdullah told Bernama here through an SMS text tonight that there was however still hope for the Malaysians to do better in the next races.
He said national junior sailor Ahmad Latif Khan was in 6th place in the first race and 3rd in the second race in the men's Optimist class.
Elite national sailor Kharulnizam Mohd Afendy was 8th in the first race and 2nd in the second race, while Mohd Romzi Mohamad came in 10th in the first race in the Laser Radial class.
