Syarikat korporat diminta taja pelumba basikal


MENTERI Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek meminta syarikat korporat, khususnya di Terengganu menaja pelumba basikal tempatan yang berjaya mencipta nama di peringkat antarabangsa dan mengharumkan nama negara.

Katanya, sokongan penajaan daripada syarikat tempatan perlu bagi mengurangkan pergantungan atlit kepada dana kerajaan semata-mata dalam usaha menyemarakkan kemajuan sukan lumba basikal negara yang kini semakin menonjol di persada antarabangsa.

Beliau berkata, ramai jaguh lumba basikal negara seperti Mohd Azizulhasni Awang dan Anuar Manan yang berjaya mencatat kejayaan cemerlang dalam pelbagai perlumbaan dunia, justeru syarikat swasta di negeri ini perlu lebih prihatin dan turut mengambil bahagian menaja mereka.



“Menerusi penajaan, syarikat tempatan dapat mempromosi syarikat masing-masing ke peringkat antarabangsa apabila jaguh lumba basikal kita memperagakan logo atau jenama produk syarikat,” katanya selepas merasmikan Mesyuarat Agung Majlis Permuafakatan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) dan Majlis Kurnia Bestari di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Badrul Alam Shah, Kemasek di Chukai, Terengganu, semalam, kelmarin.

Mengulas lanjut, Ahmad Shabery berkata, beliau tidak menafikan ada syarikat korporat atau swasta di negeri ini yang melakukan pelbagai program khidmat sosial seperti memberikan sumbangan kepada sekolah dan PIBG, tetapi setakat ini tiada sebarang tajaan diberikan terhadap jaguh sukan seperti lumba basikal. Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
