ARTHUR Koh (right), a member of the national football team that were among the best in Asia in the 1950s and 1960s, passed away at the age of 74 in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
The classic centre forward, Koh was known as a master header of the ball who used to give teams from South Korea and Japan a hard time.
Clement Soosay, a fullback who played with Koh in the great Selangor team, said: "Arthur was very good with his head. He could come from nowhere to head in the ball."
Koh played alongside the legendary Ghani Minhat in leading the Selangor attack and helped them win the Malaysia Cup in 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1966.
Koh is survived by his wife, Veronica, and two sons -- Francis and Christopher. NST
