Liga M tagih kudrat tenaga import

SELEPAS dua musim saingan Liga Malaysia (Liga M) berlangsung dengan kelibat seratus peratus pemain tempatan, sudah tiba masanya Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM) menim- bang semula penggunaan pemain import untuk saingan musim depan.
Bukan sekadar meningkatkan semula keghai- rahan penonton ke stadium, kehadiran pemain import dilihat penting bagi memartabatkan taraf Liga M di peringkat Asia terutama apabila wakil kelab dari Malaysia beraksi pada Piala AFC.
Kepentingan pemain import bagi saingan kelas dua Asia itu diakui sendiri Setiausaha Agung Persatuan Bola Sepak Selangor (FAS), Datuk Hamidin Mohd. Amin selepas melihat skuad Gergasi Merah itu terkandas seawal peringkat kumpulan pada Piala AFC 2010.
"Selangor pernah beraksi pada Piala AFC 2006 dan ketika itu kami memiliki pemain import seperti Bambang Pamungkas, Elie Aiboy dan Brian Fuentes. Kami mara hingga suku akhir sebelum tewas kepada Al-Nejmeh dari Lebanon.
"Musim ini, Selangor kembali beraksi dan sudah tentu kali ini ketiadaan pemain import telah memberi kesan kepada kami untuk mara lebih jauh.
"Tetapi perlu diingat, keputusan untuk tidak menggunakan pemain import dalam Liga M telah diterima majoriti Majlis FAM dan ia tidak boleh dijadikan alasan apabila kami kalah teruk kepada Sriwijaya (6-1) dan Binh Duong (4-0).
"Saya akui pemain import memang memberi satu kuasa tambahan kepada pasukan apabila bersaing dalam Piala AFC. Kita telah mencuba yang terbaik dan inilah keputusannya," kata Hamidin pada sidang media di Wisma FAS, Kelana Jaya semalam.



Selangor gagal ke pusingan kedua Piala AFC 2010 apabila hanya mengumpul empat mata selepas menang sekali, seri sekali dan tewas tiga kali dalam saingan Kumpulan F yang akan ber- akhir dengan aksi bertemu Sriwijaya FC di Stadium Shah Alam malam ini.
Ditanya adakah Selangor akan menyertai Piala AFC 2011 jika mereka layak selaku juara Liga Super musim ini, Hamidin menjawab ringkas: "Kita tunggu dulu keputusan pada Kongres FAM (Julai depan). Selepas itu barulah kita akan buat keputusan."
Kapten Sriwijaya FC, Keith Gumbs yang ber- asal dari Saint Kitts & Nevis turut sependapat dengan Hamidin tentang kepentingan tenaga import dalam sesebuah pasukan yang beraksi di pentas Asia.
"Secara jujurnya, pemain import banyak membantu pasukan. Memang saya lihat Sela- ngor memiliki pemain tempatan yang bagus tetapi kehadiran pemain import tetap diperlu- kan untuk memperkuatkan lagi pasukan," kata bekas penyerang import Sabah itu.
Pemain pertahanan Selangor, Razman Roslan yang bakal menggalas tugas kapten malam ini pula berkata: "Beraksi menentang lawan yang dibarisi pemain import merupakan pengalaman berharga buat kami pemain tempatan. Kami sudah berikan yang terbaik setakat ini."
Berhubung perlawanan malam ini, jurulatih Selangor, K. Devan memberitahu, mereka akan sedaya upaya untuk mengekalkan rekod tanpa kalah di laman sendiri meskipun sudah tidak layak ke pusingan kedua.
"Kami tetap serius menghadapi perlawanan ini. Hamsani Ahmad akan kembali menjaga gawang tetapi Khairul Anuar Baharom masih digantung perlawanan manakala Amri Yahyah masih cedera," ujar Devan.
Jurulatih Sriwijaya FC, Rachmat Darmawan pula berkata: "Walaupun sudah layak, kami masih bermotivasi untuk perlawanan ini. Seri atau menang 1-0 sudah memadai kerana kami beraksi di tempat lawan."

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
