RM8j untuk Yayasan MOM dilulus

MAJLIS Olimpik Malaysia (MOM) meluluskan dana permulaan RM8 juta untuk Yayasan MOM yang ditubuhkan bertujuan membantu latihan dan kebajikan atlit serta persatuan sukan yang menghadapi masalah kewangan.

Setiausaha Kehormat MOM, Datuk Sieh Kok Chi, berkata dana permulaan itu dikeluarkan daripada simpanan tunai MOM dan berharap syarikat korporat serta penaja dapat membantu menambah dana yayasan itu atas tanggungjawab sosial mereka

Kita dalam usaha mendapatkan persetujuan tiga panel bebas dari luar untuk menjadi ahli jawatankuasa bagi menguruskan yayasan ini, selain tiga ahli lembaga MOM bagi memastikan ia diuruskan dengan baik dan tidak disalahgunakan

Keputusan melantik tiga panel bebas itu bertujuan mengelakkan berlaku pilih kasih dan menangkis tanggapan pihak tertentu dalam MOM saja yang akan memperoleh manfaat daripada yayasan ini,” katanya semalam.

Mesyuarat Majlis MOM yang bersidang 25 Julai lalu meluluskan penubuhan yayasan itu, sekali gus mencontohi yayasan yang sudah wujud di negara maju seperti Amerika Syarikat dan Australia.

Kok Chi berkata, pihaknya sedang berusaha menyelesaikan beberapa perkara sebelum melancarkan secara rasmi yayasan itu sekali gus membolehkan ia beroperasi tidak lama lagi.

Sementara itu, Kok Chi berkata, sejak tahun lalu pihaknya memberi bantuan tahunan RM6,000 kepada 35 ahli gabungan dan RM4,000 kepada 15 ahli bersekutu, membabitkan peruntukan RM270,000 setahun.
“Ini adalah antara usaha kita membantu meringankan beban kewangan ahli gabungan dan bersekutu, terutama dalam perbelanjaan mengurus serta mentadbir persatuan masing-masing,” katanya.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
