KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 (Bernama) -- The third round of the Malaysian Water Ski and Wakeboard (MWWF) Championships in Putrajaya from July 16 to 18 has attracted 73 competitors from seven countries.
Malaysian Water Ski Federation (MWSF) honorary-secretary Phillipa Yoong said the response was very encouraging.
"We are very happy to have received six entries from Kuwait, comprising four men and two women wake boarders. They shall be visiting Putrajaya for the first time to compete in our championships which is rapidly gaining international popularity," she said in a statement on Monday.
Yoong said Round Three would see the introduction of the Water Ski Jump event in the National Championship.
Categories in the event are Slalom, Short board (Tricks), Jump and Wakeboard for women and men as well as for various age groups.
Among the competing countries are Kuwait, Singapore, Britain, France and host Malaysia.
Admission for the public is free. Events start from 8am to 5pm.
