Chong Wei ketuai kemaraan

MACAU - Pemain No. 1 dunia, Datuk Lee Chong Wei mudah menundukkan pemain Taiwan, Hsu Jen Hao, 21-15, 21-12 pada pusingan kedua kejohanan badminton Terbuka Macau, semalam.
Chong Wei hanya mengambil 27 minit untuk menempah tempat ke pusingan ketiga dan bertemu pilihan ke-14, Saensomboonsuk Tanongsak dari Thailand.

Seorang lagi pemain perseorangan negara, Wong Choong Han juga mempamerkan aksi cemerlang apabila menewaskan pemain Hong Kong, Chun Hei Tam, 21-10, 21-12.
Pemain muda negara, Liew Daren pula membuat kejutan apabila menyingkirkan pilihan ke-12, Parupalli dari India, 13-21, 21-13 dan 21-19.

Namun, seorang lagi pemain negara, Wong Beryno Jiann Tze gagal meneruskan kemaraan, walaupun memberikan tentangan sengit kepada pemain veteran Korea, Lee Hyun Ill sebelum kalah 19-21, 16-21.
Sementara itu, di dalam acara beregu lelaki, gandingan Chan Chong Ming-Chew Choon Eng menang ke atas beregu Belanda, Ruud Bosch- Koen Ridder, 21-12, 21-18.

Satu lagi beregu negara, Chan Peng Soon- Lim Kim Wah juga cemerlang apabila menang 21-11, 21-13 ke atas Liu Peixuan-Lu Kai dari China.

Dalam acara wanita, perseorangan negara, Wong Mew Choo turut layak ke pusingan ketiga dengan menjadikan pemain Hong Kong, Chan Tsz Ka sebagai mangsa dengan kemenangan 21-17, 21-18.
Bagaimanapun, kecemerlangan Mew Choo gagal diikuti Lydia Cheah, apabila kalah kepada Sayaka Sato dari Jepun 21-15, 13-21 dan 20-22.

Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui yang sebelum ini diberikan amaran supaya mempertingkatkan prestasi oleh ketua jurulatih Rexy Mainaky, berhempas pulas mengalahkan beregu Amerika, Iris Wang-Rena Wang, 21-19, 21-18.

Gandingan adik beradik, Ng Hui Ern-Ng Hui Lin juga layak ke pusingan seterusnya, namun Hoo Kah Mum-Woon Khe Wei terkandas apabila tunduk kepada beregu Korea.
