Sukan: Kerjasama dua kementerian dipertingkat

KEMENTERIAN Pelajaran dan Kementerian Belia dan Sukan akan mempertingkatkan kerjasama untuk menggalakkan lebih ramai pelajar melibatkan diri dalam bidang sukan di negara ini.
Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin berkata, jika sebelum ini kerjasama hanya ditumpukan kepada sukan teras sahaja tetapi selepas ini ia akan turut melibatkan sukan yang berteraskan pertandingan (sukan kompetitif).


"Kerjasama Kementerian Pelajaran dan Kementerian Belia dan Sukan akan dipertingkatkan untuk menyediakan platform menggalakkan penglibatan pelajar di dalam sukan bukan hanya kepada sukan teras seperti lumba basikal, bola sepak, terjun, wusyu, badminton, olahraga dan skuasy tetapi juga kepada sukan yang berteraskan pertandingan seperti sukan air pemotoran Formula Future," katanya.

Beliau yang juga Menteri Pelajaran berkata demikian ketika berucap pada majlis perasmian penutup Kejohanan Formula Future Kebangsaaan 2010 di Taman Botani, Putrajaya semalam.
Muhyiddin yang merupakan penaung Formula Future Malaysia menegaskan, untuk tujuan itu kerajaan telah merancang untuk membina pusat sukan satelit (PSS) di sekolah-sekolah di setiap negeri di bawah Rancangan Malaysia Ke-10 (RMK-10).

"Selain mencungkil bakat sukan dari sekolah rendah, PSS akan berperanan untuk mendedahkan atlet dan jurulatih di peringkat akar umbi tentang perkembangan sains sukan, pemakanan sukan, perubatan sukan serta penyelidikan sukan yang berfungsi untuk membantu melahirkan atlet kelas dunia," tegasnya.
Sementara itu, beliau turut mengumumkan bahawa Putrajaya sedang dipantau untuk dijadikan Ibu Pejabat Formula Satu Bot Laju Asia selepas promoter perlumbaan tersebut melawat Pusat Maritim Putrajaya baru-baru ini.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
