Jawatankuasa tetap Taekwondo Malaysia dibentuk

KUALA LUMPUR - Selepas sekian lama kemelut yang melanda kepada sukan taekwondo negara, akhirnya satu jawatankuasa tetap Taekwondo Malaysia (TM) bagi penggal 2010-2012, berjaya dibentuk dalam mesyuarat agung kali pertama badan induk itu di Wisma Majlis Olimpik Malaysia (OCM), semalam.
Dalam mesyuarat agung kali pertama (AGM) itu, Tunku Imran Tuanku Jaafar, yang merupakan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Penaja TM, dipilih sebagai presiden selepas menang tanpa bertanding.

Sementara itu, Datuk Mohamed Nazim Razak mengisi jawatan timbalan presiden, juga menerusi kemenangan tanpa bertanding.

Bagi naib presiden, seramai enam calon bertanding untuk tiga tempat yang ditawarkan dan ia menjadi milik Datuk Roy Rajasingham, KM Rajendran dan dan Chin Mee Keong.
Sejurus selepas mesyuarat terbabit, Tunku Imran melahirkan rasa gembira kerana semua pengamal sukan itu akhirnya dapat disatukan di bawah satu bumbung.

''Segalanya berjalan lancar pada mesyuarat hari ini dan mereka, tidak kira dari peringkat negeri atau kelab, dapat bersatu demi kepentingan sukan taekwondo.
''Bukan itu sahaja, perlembagaan baru TM berjaya disahkan pada hari ini dan telah mendapat persetujuan Pesuruhjaya Sukan.

''Sasaran kami sebagai jawatankuasa baru TM adalah untuk menjadikan taekwondo kembali menjadi sukan gerak tempur pertama di Malaysia, '' katanya.

Pernah dibatalkan pendaftaran pada 6 Mei 2005 di atas nama Persatuan Taekwondo Malaysia (MTA), satu jawatankuasa sementara telah dibentuk pada 1 Mac lalu, bagi mengendalikan segala perjalanan sukan taekwondo di negara ini.

Badan baru itu telah berdaftar dengan Pejabat Pesuruhjaya Sukan 18 Februari lalu dan mendapat sokongan daripada Persatuan Taekwondo Dunia (WTF).

Selain itu, Tunku berkata mesyuarat pertama jawatankuasa eksekutif TM akan diadakan pada 8 September ini bagi membincangkan pelantikan jawatankuasa.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
