Skuad negara harungi dua perlawanan di Doha


PEMAIN negara ketika memulakan sesi latihan mereka di padang Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya semalam.


SKUAD kebangsaan bimbingan K. Rajagobal akan terbang ke Doha, Qatar pada Sabtu ini untuk menghadapi dua aksi persahabatan menentang sebuah kelab Qatar dan skuad kebangsaan Oman.
Menurut Rajagobal, dia hanya akan membawa 22 pemain terbaik daripada senarai 26 pelatih skuad kebangsaan yang telah mula menjalani latihan di Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya sejak 16 Ogos lalu.

“Kita akan berlepas pada Sabtu ini sebelum bertemu sebuah pasukan kelab Qatar pada 30 Ogos (Isnin). Ia sebagai persiapan sebelum kita bertemu skuad kebangsaan Oman pada 3 September (Jumaat).
“Tiada tekanan untuk kita memenangi kedua-dua perlawanan ini kerana bagi saya, peluang bertemu pasukan terbaik serta memberi pendedahan dan pengalaman kepada para pemain adalah lebih penting,” katanya ketika dihubungi Kosmo! semalam.

Oman dianggap lawan yang cukup baik buat skuad negara memandangkan negara itu menduduki ranking ke-81 dunia berbanding Malaysia di kedudukan ke-139 dunia.
Ditanya pula tentang prestasi para pemain sepanjang 10 hari mereka menjalani latihan, Rajagobal berkata, dia sudah menekankan kepada pemain bahawa fokus utama mereka ketika ini adalah saingan Sukan Asia 2010 di Guangzhou, China pada November depan.

“Sepanjang latihan, saya mahu lihat sejauh mana kesungguhan dan sikap mereka selain mahu memperkukuhkan tahap persefahaman di kalangan para pemain.
“Setelah gagal mengadakan perlawanan persahabatan di Singapura, kita sempat mengadakan satu aksi persahabatan menentang KL Plus di Wisma FAM semalam (kelmarin) dan menang 3-1,” ujar Rajagobal.
Selepas kem latihan skuad kebangsaan berakhir pada 7 September depan, para pemain akan kembali ke pasukan masing-masing untuk menghadapi saingan Piala Malaysia bermula 14 September depan.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
