Prestasi hambar di Sukan Komanwel di New Delhi antara faktor utama

KONTINJEN negara ke Sukan Asia XVI Guangzhou dari 12 hingga 27 November ini mungkin berkurangan daripada jumlah asal apabila beberapa atlit yang sudah mendapat ‘tiket’ beraksi pada temasya itu kemungkinan menarik diri.

Setiausaha Kehormat Majlis Olimpik Malaysia (MOM), Datuk Sieh Kok Chi sebelum ini pernah mengeluarkan kenyataan bahawa atlit yang sudah mendapat ‘tiket’ beraksi dalam Sukan Asia belum boleh menarik nafas lega kerana ia boleh ditarik balik sekiranya gagal menyerlah di Sukan Komanwel.

Antara faktor MOM mahu mengkaji semula kelulusan ‘tiket’ yang sudah diberikan berikutan kos mahal yang terpaksa ditanggung iaitu AS$50 (RM155) sehari berbanding penginapan dan makanan percuma di Sukan Komanwel.

Difahamkan, Ketua Pengarah Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) yang juga Chef de Mission (CDM) ke Sukan Asia Datuk Zolkples Embong akan mempengerusikan mesyuarat Selasa ini bagi menentukan jumlah sebenar atlit yang akan bertanding.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
