Bepe: Selamat untuk Malaysia!

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Penyerang tim nasional Indonesia, Bambang Pamungkas, menilai rekan-rekannya bermain dengan karakter luar biasa, karena mampu menang 2-1 atas Malaysia setelah tertinggal lebih dulu, di leg kedua final Piala AFF 2010, di Gelora Bung Karno, Rabu (29/12/2010). Menurutnya, itu tak kalah bernilai ketimbang gelar juara yang akhirnya jatuh ke tangan Malaysia, karena menang 3-0 pada leg pertama, 26 Desember lalu.

Pada laga leg kedua itu, Indonesia berpeluang unggul ketika mendapat hadiah penalti, menyusul handsball yang dilakukan Mohd Sabre bin Mat Abu pada menit ke-18. Firman Utina yang dipercaya mengeksekusi bola mengirimnya secara akurat ke sudut kiri bawah gawang. Sayangnya, tendangan terlalu lemah sehingga bola mudah ditangkap Khairul Fahmi.

Masalah Indonesia bertambah ketika pada menit ke-54, penyerang Malaysia, Mohd Safee membobol gawang Markus Horison. Namun, Indonesia akhirnya mampu menang 2-1, berkat sepasang gol dari Muhammad Nasuha (73) dan Muhammad Ridwan (85).

"Kami sedikit tidak beruntung karena gagal penalti. Namun, kami membuktikan diri sebagai tim yang memiliki karakter. Yang jelas tim ini bermain bagus. Kami menang tapi tidak juara. Selamat kepada Malaysia," kata Bepe, sapaan akrab Bambang.

Indonesia Choose Komodo Dragon As SEA Games Mascot

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- Host for the 26th SEA Games, Indonesia has chosen the Komodo dragon as mascot for the 2011 Games which will be held in Jakarta and Palembang from Nov 11 to 25. The Indonesia SEA Games Organizing Committee (Inasoc), was qouted by Jakarta Post as saying that a pair of Komodo dragons, a male (Modo) and a female (Modi), were chosen in recognition of the Republic's conservation efforts to protect the dwindling number of the rare lizard. Modo and Modi were unveiled last night at a function in Jakarta, to mark the 200-day countdown before the games open on Nov 11 in Palembang.
