In the finals step-ladder event, Ang managed to knock down 161 pin falls, 45 pins behind Remy Ong of Singapore who scored 206 pin falls.
"I wanted to make a good start at the first few frames and managed to have two strikes on the first two frames. I think I might have inadvertently in a bit of rush in doing so," said Ang.
At the outset, Ang continued his fine running in the second block of the Masters event, accumulating 1,295 pin falls to follow-up yesterday's 1,353 pins or a total of 2,648 pin falls, thus booking his berth in the step-ladder finals.
The top three finishers in the men's and women's categories qualified for the step-ladder finals.
"After Remy managed to make adjustment to his game, I tried to calm down but it was too late. So, I just try my best by making sure that the ball went into the pocket every time.

"This was anybody's game as we just had to bowl one game. He (Adrian Ang) had a few unlucky breaks and I got lucky, So, at this level (step-ladder), just one game anything goes. Definitely, I am satisfied with the win. This is my first Masters gold medal in the Commonwealth championship," said Ong.
