Emas terlepas ke Singapura


DARI kiri, Zulmazran, Siti Safiyah, Zandra dan Adrian menunjukkan pingat yang dimenangi selepas beraksi dalam acara campuran pada Kejuaraan Tenpin Boling Komanwel ke-5 di Sunway Mega Lanes semalam.


SKUAD boling negara terlepas mengutip pingat emas ketiga mereka apabila tewas kepada Singapura dalam acara campuran pada Kejuaraan Tenpin Boling Komanwel ke-5 yang berlangsung di Sunway Mega Lanes semalam.

Skuad negara yang dibarisi Adrian Ang, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, Zandra Aziela Ibrahim Hakimi dan Zulmazran Zulkifli hanya berjaya mencatat 5,055 jatuhan pin.

Singapura pula yang menurunkan Shayna Ng, Geraldine Ng, Jason Yeong-Nathan dan Remy Ong beraksi cemerlang pada blok kedua dengan menjatuhkan 2,340 pin, sekali gus menambah jumlah 1,826 pin yang dicatat pada blok pertama untuk memenangi pingat emas.

Sementara itu, skuad India yang dibarisi Prathima Hedge, Akaash Ashok Kumar, Swapna Mitra dan Shabbir Dhankot, mencuri tumpuan apabila memenangi pingat gangsa selepas mengumpul 4,765 jatuhan pin.
Ini merupakan pingat pertama pernah diraih India pada kejohanan ini.

"Kami tetap meraih pingat pada setiap acara meskipun ia bukan emas," kata jurulatih skuad negara, Ben Heng.

Setakat ini, Malaysia telah mengutip dua emas, dua perak dan tiga gangsa.
Selepas menamatkan empat acara, kesemua pemain negara berjaya layak ke acara Masters.


Bagi divisyen lelaki, Adrian dan Zulmazran menduduki dua tempat teratas manakala dalam divisyen wanita, Siti Safiyah Amirah berada di tempat kedua dan Zandra Aziela di tangga kelima.

Adrian mendahului kedudukan dalam acara keseluruhan dengan jumlah jatuhan 5,349 pin manakala Zulmazran mengumpul 5,245 pin.

Dalam kategori wanita, pemain Singapura, Geraldine mendahului dengan jatu- han 5,010 pin manakala Siti Safiyah mengekori rapat dengan ketinggalan 60 pin selepas mencatat 4,950 jatuhan pin.
Zandra Aziela pula hanya mampu mengumpul 4,774 jatuhan pin.

"Saya tidak sabar untuk menyaksikan pemain kita beraksi esok (hari ini) dan acara Masters sehari selepas itu.
"Diharapkan mereka akan mempamerkan satu lagi persembahan yang baik buat Malaysia," kata Ben Heng.
Dua belas pemain terbaik dalam setiap kategori lelaki dan wanita akan layak menyertai acara Masters.

Tiada pingat ditawarkan dalam acara All-Event, namun hadiah berupa plak akan diberikan kepada tiga pemain teratas yang mana tidak akan dikira dalam jumlah pungutan pingat keseluruhan. - Bernama

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
