'Mengapa Misbun tidak respons, itu saya tidak pasti'

KUALA LUMPUR - "Kalau saya jadi Misbun, saya akan pulang ke pangkuan skuad kebangsaan dan membimbing (Datuk) Lee Chong Wei sampai Sukan Olimpik 2012,''. Itu kata ketua jurulatih perseorangan negara, Rashid Sidek ketika ditanya mengenai abangnya, Datuk Misbun Sidek.

Rashid mengakui langsung tidak mempunyai petunjuk apakah Misbun sedia menyambung kerjasama dengan Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) selepas meletak jawatan pada 31 Disember lalu.
"Pada saya sekarang semua terpulang kepada BAM untuk buat keputusan. Selepas tiga bulan memberi tempoh dan Misbun terus menyepi, sebaiknya BAM sendiri yang memutuskan apa tindakan mereka.
"Mengapa Misbun masih tidak respons? itu saya tidak pasti, mungkin... beliau masih menunggu balasan surat yang pernah diberi kepada Presiden (Datuk Seri Nadzmi Mohd. Salleh) tetapi ia cuma teori saya, tidak pasti betul atau tidak.

"Saya tidak berani komen panjang kerana saya tidak tahu apa yang difikirkan Misbun, beliau tidak pernah menjelaskan kepada saya apa yang diinginkan untuk kembali ke pangkuan skuad kebangsaan," katanya ketika ditemui di Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara semalam.

Rashid mengakui, andai Misbun kembali ke pangkuan skuad kebangsaan, keadaan mungkin sudah sedikit berbeza dengan persekitaran yang tidak lagi selesa berbanding dulu selepas semua yang berlaku dalam tempoh tiga bulan ini.

Namun, tegasnya, itu bukan masalah besar yang menghalang jurulatih itu daripada pulang, jika beliau benar-benar mahu kembali.

"Persekitaran mungkin tidak berapa selesa selepas ini, tetapi Misbun boleh meneruskan kerjanya seperti biasa. Saya fikir beliau tidak akan terganggu.
"Bagaimanapun kalau beliau benar-benar mahu balik ke BAM dan bersama Chong Wei, sudah tentu beliau akan respons, kalau bukan sekarang dalam tempoh terdekat, kita lihat saja,'' ujar Rashid lagi.
Ditanya apakah ketiadaan Misbun menjejaskan latihan skuad perseorangan kebangsaan, terutama Chong Wei, Rashid menegaskan, ia sama sekali tidak berlaku.

Jelasnya, mungkin di peringkat awal ketika Misbun mengumumkan tidak mahu memperbaharui kontrak, ia mengejutkan Chong Wei namun selepas tiga bulan, mereka mengharunginya dengan baik.
"Merangkul tiga kejuaraan daripada empat kejohanan dan satu lagi masuk final, ia keputusan yang sangat baik. Saya tidak nampak persiapan Chong Wei untuk Sukan Olimpik terjejas, dia pemain yang profesional dan sudah matang.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
