LANGKAWI, April 26 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Yachting Association (MYA) is forced to stop sending its athletes to participate in any championship, whether locally or abroad, due to financial problems.
MYA general manager Mohd Afendy Abdullah said the association had to suspend its participation in all championships as it had to bear the debts incurred during the hosting of the IODA World Sailing Championship 2010 in Langkawi, which was participated by more than 50 countries, in December last year.
"Most of the allocation had been utilised to upgrade the facilities at the National Yachting Training centre, here," he told Bernama, here Tuesday.
In addition, he said the facilities and equipment acquired for use by the sailors involved considerable allocation.
As such, the MYA hoped that the National Sports Council (NSC) could speed up payments owed since 2008, as well as the half-year grant for the year 2011.

Mine only took a couple of days. The thing smells so bad though! Had it for a week and a half and my garage still smells like burnt rubber/plastic from it.
