'Yang lain boleh, tapi bukan KOAM'

PERSATUAN lain boleh bangkit bicara kes masing-masing tetapi bukan Kesatuan Olahraga Amatur Malaysia (KOAM).

Penjelasan daripada Ketua Pengarah Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Datuk Zolkples Embong, semalam secara terang menolak cadangan Presiden KOAM, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim untuk memegang tanggungjawab membayar elaun atlitnya seperti diamalkan sebelum Sukan Komanwel 1998.

“Jika cadangan itu dikemukakan persatuan lain, saya mungkin boleh berbincang lagi. Terus terang, saya tidak percaya kepada mereka apa lagi mengenai soal duit,” kata Zolkples.
Katanya, soal amanah kepada badan induk olahraga itu sangat diragui apa lagi selepas badan induk olahraga itu didakwa gagal membeli peralatan yang sepatutnya selepas menerima peruntukan RM280,000 pada akhir 2007.

Kredibiliti KOAM dalam pengurusan wang yang diamanahkan itu boleh dipersoalkan apabila KOAM yang sepatutnya menggunakan peruntukan itu untuk membekalkan peralatan kepada pusat latihan negeri di bawah program Sukan Teras, tidak memberi penjelasan mengenai penggunaan wang itu.

“Pada masa itu, kita sudah bantu hingga mendapatkan sebut harga bagi mereka bekalkan peralatan yang sepatutnya kepada negeri namun barang itu sampai sekarang tidak pernah dibeli atau wang itu dipulangkan kepada MSN sehingga hari ini,” katanya.

Zolkples bagaimanapun tidak pasti sama ada presiden KOAM itu sudah dimaklumkan mengenai 'sejarah' pengurusan wang badan induk itu sebelum ini atau tidak.

Kelmarin, Shahidan meminta tanggungjawab menguruskan pembayaran elaun atlit diserahkan semula kepada badan induk itu apa lagi selepas kegagalan MSN yang dikatakan gagal membayar elaun atlit dan jurulatih mengikut jadual sehingga tertunggak beberapa bulan

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
