KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- Nominations for all 12 posts to be contested during the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) election will close on June 7, said OCM honorary secretary Datuk Sieh Kok Chi.
"The closing date is June 7 and those interested in contesting for any posts should submit their nominations through their respective association by then," he told Bernama Monday.
After the closing date on June 7, the list of candidates for the 2011-2013 term would be announced and 105 delegates from 35 OCM affiliates would cast their votes on June 18, he said.
Among those who have confirmed their candidacy are incumbent vice president Datuk A. Sani Karim who will contest the post of Deputy President since Tan Sri Dr M.Jegathesan had announced that he would not be defending his post.
OCM President Tunku Tan Sri Imran Tuanku Ja'afar who has held the post since 1999 has also expressed his interest to defend the post while Kok Chi, the honorary secretary since 1992 is also keen to retain his post.
