PETALING JAYA - Jurulatih negara, K. Rajagobal enggan menaruh harapan tinggi kepada penyerang utama negara, Safee Sali mahupun penjaring terbanyak Liga Super, Abdul Hadi Yahya untuk menyerlah pada perlawanan persahabatan menentang Hong Kong, Jumaat ini.

Katanya, mereka tidak perlu didesak melakukan sesuatu yang berlebihan selagi keserasian dan kriteria pasukan yang mahu dilihatnya di kalangan 24 orang yang dipanggil dalam tempoh latihan lima hari, belum dicapai.

"Saya tidak mahu menekan mereka dalam tempoh sesingkat ini. Kita hanya perlu ada kriteria dan keserasian tertentu bagi sebuah perlawanan persahabatan antarabangsa walaupun ia masih tidak mencukupi," katanya di Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya, semalam.

Safee yang mencipta nama dengan Pelita Jaya setelah menyerlah sebagai penjaring terbanyak dan membantu Malaysia menjulang Piala Suzuki AFF 2010, hanya akan menyertai sesi latihan mulai hari ini kerana baru diberi pelepasan kelab Indonesia itu, semalam.

Dua lagi pemain, Baddrol Bakhtiar dan Amar Rohidan turut hanya akan mula melapor diri hari ini kerana masih dalam perjalanan selepas membantu Kedah menewaskan Terengganu 1-0 pada perlawanan Liga Super di Kuala Terengganu, kelmarin.

Namun, tujuh pemain terpaksa dilepaskan bagi persediaan bawah 22 tahun menghadapi Kelayakan Olimpik 2012 di bawah bimbingan Ong Kim Swee iaitu Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, Ahmad Fakri Saarani, Muslim Ahmad, Fadhli Shas, Mahalli Jasuli, K. Gurusamy dan Izzaq Faris Ramlan.

Rajagobal turut menolak untuk mendapatkan sekurang-kurangnya satu perlawanan persahabatan dengan mana-mana pasukan tempatan sebagai medan pemilihan 22 pemain negara sebelum mereka berlepas ke Hong Kong, Rabu ini.

"Menentang Hong Kong juga dapat membantu saya mengenal pasti barisan pemain terbaik bagi misi yang lebih penting, pusingan pertama Kelayakan Piala Dunia 2014 menentang Taiwan secara timbal balik pada 29 Jun dan 3 Julai ini," katanya.

Anak buah Rajagobal sudah melalui dua persahabatan sejak bergelar juara Piala Suzuki AFF dengan menewaskan Hong Kong 2-0 dan diikat 1-1 oleh kelab Perancis yang beraksi dalam Liga Singapura, Etoile, masing-masing pada 9 Februari dan 26 Mac lalu.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
