Najib santai saksi final Liga Juara-Juara




Diteman isteri, Rosmah teruja bersama ribuan penonton di Dataran Putrajaya

SAMBIL mengenakan jersi pasukan kegemarannya, Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dan isteri Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor hadir menyaksikan perlawanan akhir Liga Juara-Juara Eropah antara Manchester United dan Barcelona bersama peminat bola sepak menerusi skrin gergasi di Dataran Putrajaya, awal pagi semalam.

Lebih 10,000 peminat membanjiri dataran itu memberi tepukan gemuruh sebagai tanda penghormatan ketika menyambut ketibaan Najib, kira-kira setengah jam selepas perlawanan bermula, tiga minit sebelum Wayne Rooney menyamakan kedudukan 1-1.
Perdana Menteri tampak bersemangat sepanjang perlawanan tetapi Barcelona yang lebih mendominasi permainan akhirnya menumpaskan Man U dengan 3-1, sekali gus membuktikan statusnya sebagai kelab terulung sepanjang zaman.

Turut hadir menyaksikan perlawanan yang diadakan sempena program Himpunan Sejuta Belia 2011 itu ialah Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan Datuk Razali Ibrahim dan Timbalan Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan dan Kesejahteraan Bandar, Datuk M Saravanan.

Ini adalah kali kedua Perdana Menteri menonton bola sepak bersama peminat. Disember lalu, Najib menyertai warga kota menonton perlawanan separuh akhir Piala AFF Suzuki di antara Malaysia dan Vietnam menerusi skrin gergasi di Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. As such, the Prime Minister said, it was important to scout for young talents in sports. "I observe that the Malaysia Games (Sukma) has become one of the important platforms to do so. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
