PUTRAJAYA, May 26 (Bernama) -- All Malaysian athletes must take note of banned substances so as not to get into the doping trap, said Deputy Sports Minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim.
"This is a reminder to athletes. There are no short cuts to achieving success," he said in commenting on the action of six athletes who avoided anti-doping tests on Tuesday.
He told this to reporters after handing over the Jalur Gemilang (National Flag) to the national rugby team which will be competing in the Asian Five Nation (A5N) tournament next week in South Korea, at his office here Thursday.
Razali said his ministry viewed the matter seriously because it cost a lot to nurture athletes, besides the image of the nation was at stake.
