Tahun 2030 tidak sesuai untuk ASEAN

KUALA LUMPUR - Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Razali Ibrahim akan cuba merujuk semula kepada Kabinet dan Menteri Luar, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman sekiranya perlu cadangan negara-negara ASEAN untuk membida sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia 2030 dipinda ke tahun lain selepasnya.

Beliau yang juga Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kabinet Mengenai Pembangunan Bola Sepak Negara berkata, ia bagi mengelakkan peluang ASEAN menjadi samar sekiranya kekal dengan bidaan 2030 memandangkan jiran Asia mereka, Qatar baru sahaja dipilih sebagai tuan rumah pusingan akhir kejohanan berprestij dunia itu pada 2022.

"Piala Dunia 2030 mulanya diletak sebagai sasaran awal dan terhampir untuk dibida Asia tetapi selepas Qatar dipilih FIFA (Persekutuan Bola Sepak Antarabangsa) menjadi tuan rumah 2022, kita kena fikirkan satu tahun lain yang tidak boleh terlalu hampir termasuk 2026," katanya selepas pembukaan rasmi Kedai Sukan FBT di Kompleks Pertama di sini, semalam.

Cadangan ASEAN membida Piala Dunia 2030 diumumkan Anifah Aman di Lombok, Januari lalu malah Malaysia diberi mandat jiran serantau bagi menyediakan kertas kerjanya walaupun Presiden FIFA, Sepp Blatter di Kuala Lumpur kemudian menyifatkan pengelolaan bersama sebagai sukar dilaksanakan seperti mana Korea Selatan-Jepun pada 2002.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Urusan Universal Fitness & Leisure Sdn. Bhd. pengendali eksklusif Kedai FBT, Datuk Radha Krishnan berkata, mereka berhasrat untuk menaja beberapa pasukan bola sepak dalam Liga Super dan Perdana bagi menambah pembabitan syarikat itu selain dengan memanah, gimnastik dan boling padang.

"Selain itu, kami turut akan meluaskan rangkaian Kedai FBT ke beberapa lagi bandar utama seperti Ipoh, Johor Bahru dan Pulau Pinang sebagai memenuhi permintaan pengguna barangan sukan, rekreasi, senaman dan aktiviti luar rumah lain," katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
