The Royal Terengganu Endurance Stable (RTES) team accumulated a total time of 13:36:22s, with the King completing the three-loop 80km course in 4:19:49s, just a second faster than the Regent.
Winners of the team category were Team Horses from Thailand, comprising Wipawan Pawitayalarp, Warit Khuntarhporn and Prutirat Ratanakul Serireongrith.
The trio clocked 12:09:33s to finish just over an hour ahead of the State of Terengganu Endurance Team (STET), made up of Datuk Abdullah Taib, Mohd Kharul Abidin Mohd Nasir and Md Firdaus Hamid, who acquired a total time of 13:12;35s.
STET, however, made amends in the individual category when their rider Wan Kamaluddin Wan Yusof rode away with the title. The 39-year-old, who hails from Besut, Terengganu, crossed the line in 4:02:50s to win from 53 other riders from Malaysia and Thailand. His horse, Idas Tobiha, also won the best conditioned horse category.
Second place went to Ramso Ramli of the STC Endurance team who finished 12 seconds behind Wan Kamaluddin while Thailand's Wipawan Pawitayalarp came in third trailing Ramso by another seven seconds.
The winners received their prizes from Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said at the launching of the Sultan Mizan Cup 2011 in Kampung Mangkok in Setiu.
