Hambat kemenangan

PETALING JAYA - Kurang tempoh 24 jam perlawanan pusingan pertama kelayakan Piala Dunia 2014 bertemu Taiwan, Datuk K. Rajagobal terus berteka-teki mengenai kesebelasan utama yang akan diturunkan di Stadium Nasiona,l Bukit Jalil, malam ini.

Tanpa mahu mendedahkan tahap kecederaan pemain-pemain utamanya seperti Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha dan Abdul Hadi Yahya, beliau berkata, mungkin akan terdapat kejutan dalam senarai kesebelasan utama yang akan diturunkan pada malam ini.

''Saya masih menunggu sehingga saat akhir perkembangan beberapa pemain utama yang mengalami kecederaan dengan mengambil kira pandangan nasihat dan pandangan pegawai fisioterapi.
''Seperti Khairul Fahmi, saya mungkin akan membuat keputusan selepas sesi latihan terakhir. Mungkin dia boleh bermain atau mungkin tidak. Seandainya dia tidak dapat diturunkan, mungkin perlawanan di Taiwan kelak, khidmatnya dapat digunakan.

''Saya tidak boleh menurunkan pemain yang baru pulih daripada kecederaan begitu sahaja, hanya pemain yang benar cergas sahaja saya akan turunkan pada perlawanan esok (hari ini).
''Anda semua boleh membuat analisis sendiri pemain mana yang akan diturunkan tetapi mungkin saya akan membuat kejutan dalam kesebelasan utama pada hari esok dengan mengambil kira semua faktor," katanya di Wisma FAM, semalam.

Bercakap selepas sidang media mesyuarat pengurus pasukan Malaysia dan Taiwan menjelang perlawanan malam ini, Rajagobal menegaskan, sasaran utama beliau adalah mendapat sebarang kemenangan tanpa terlalu mahu memikirkan soal mendapatkan bekalan selesa.

Pada sidang media berkenaan, delegasi Taiwan diwakili jurulatih, Lo Chih-Tsung dan kapten, Chen Yu-Lin sementara Harimau Malaya diwakili kapten pasukan, Safiq Rahim.
''Perkara pertama yang saya mahukan selepas pemain turun ke padang ialah bermain dengan baik dan cuba mendapatkan kemenangan walaupun ia sekadar 1-0.

''Soal mendapatkan bekalan selesa atau tidak itu perkara lain, bermain di gelanggang sendiri tidak semestinya boleh memberikan kemenangan besar.
''Saya tidak boleh ramalkan keputusan yang kita boleh menang, namun apa yang saya boleh harapkan pemain mengambil kesempatan di atas segala peluang yang terhidang tetapi sebagai jurulatih, saya cukup optimis dan rasa teruja mengenai peluang negara dalam pusingan kelayakan kali ini," ujarnya.

Menyentuh Taiwan yang akan ditemuinya, Rajagobal mengakui dia sama sekali tidak akan memandang mudah cabaran lawan sambil melihatkan ancaman pasti akan datang di bahagian sayap.

''Dua pemain sayap mereka iaitu yang memakai jersi nombor 9 dan 10, cukup bagus di samping mempunyai penyerang yang cukup rajin. Begitu juga pertahanan mereka yang agak kuat," tegas Rajagobal.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
