Simoncelli terbunuh

SEPANG – Kerancakan Grand Prix Malaysia yang berlangsung di Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC), semalam berakhir dengan tragedi apabila pelumba pasukan San Carlo Honda Gresini, Marco Simoncelli terbunuh dalam kemalangan maut yang turut melibatkan dua pelumba saingan MotoGP.
Pelumba No. 6 dunia yang berasal dari Itali itu mengalami kecederaan parah di kepala, tengkuk dan dada apabila dia terbabit dalam perlanggaran dengan sebuah motosikal yang ditunggang Colin Edwards dari pasukan Monster Yamaha Tech 3.

Insiden itu berlaku di selekoh 11 ketika saingan baru masuk pusingan kedua sebelum perlumbaan dihentikan ekoran kejadian tersebut.

Kemalangan itu berlaku yang dipercayai berpunca daripada kegagalan Simoncelli mengawal jenteranya dan mengakibatkan dia hilang kawalan lalu terjatuh ke litar sebelum dirempuh oleh motosikal Edwards.
Lebih malang lagi topi keledar yang digunakan oleh Simoncelli, 24, pecah ekoran dilanggar oleh penunggang Ducati Team, Valentino Rossi dan insiden itu turut menyebabkan Edwards serta Rossi terbabas di kawasan rumput tepi litar.

Bagaimanapun Rossi berjaya mengawal motosikalnya manakala Edwards terjatuh di atas rumput dan mengalami kecederaan ringan.

Pada sidang akhbar oleh pemegang hak MotoGP, Dorna dan Persekutuan Motosikal Antarabangsa (FIM) mengesahkan Simoncelli meninggal dunia pada pukul 4.56 petang.

Menurut Pengarah Perubatan MotoGP, Dr. Michele Macchiagodena, Simoncelli mengalami kecederaan parah di kepala, tengkuk dan dadanya berdasarkan pemeriksaan perubatan yang dijalankan ke atas pelumba berkenaan.

“Doktor FIM dan juga doktor tempatan bertungkus lumus menyelamatkan Simoncelli sebaik sahaja dia dibawa ke pusat perubatan SIC.

“Pelbagai cara telah diusahakan selama 45 minit untuk menyelamatkan Simoncelli terutamanya melalui kaedah CPR (pertolongan cemas pemulihan pernafasan), namun mereka gagal dan dia kemudiannya disahkan meninggal dunia pada pukul 4.56 petang,” katanya.

Menjawab satu soalan, Macchiagodena memberitahu, Edward hanya mengalami kecederaan ringan di bahu dan pelumba itu berada dalam keadaan baik.

Pengarah Perlumbaan MotoGP, Paul Butler dalam sidang akhbar sama mengucapkan takziah kepada keluarga Simoncelli di atas tragedi yang menimpa pelumba muda itu.

Jelasnya lagi, pihaknya akan menjalankan siasatan menyeluruh berhubung insiden tersebut untuk mencari punca sebenar kemalangan itu berlaku.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
